When the opportunity presented itself to meet up with a group of local Wisconsin photographers for a photo shoot, we jumped at the chance to participate! In the spirit of community over competition, Kate, owner of Eloise and Peas, graciously offered to open up her home studio to a handful of us last weekend. Not only did she feed us some delicious treats (Cake donuts? Yes please!), she gathered all kinds of beautiful details for us to photograph as well.
A perfectly arranged bouquet of white anemones, white roses, and blue thistle. A gorgeous cushion cut halo ring and velvet ring box. Hand calligraphed blue agate slices. And snacks … lots of snacks! Add in a couple of impromptu models from our group to round it out and we had a full on photo session!
Community over Competition
Outside of getting to know some new friends in the industry, and the donuts of course, the best part of the day was the opportunity to learn from fellow photographers. Two members of the group shared their experience and expertise, encouraging all of us to grow both personally and professionally. Continually challenging ourselves to grow is very important to us. So we listened intently, absorbing all the knowledge we possibly could!
As small business owners and creative entrepreneurs sometimes we tend to live on our own little island. Don’t get us wrong, island living is awesome! But it is also important to be intentional about creating great relationships. We are so thankful for our new friends in this community, and look forward to our next local photographers photo shoot!
