This is it! Our final post from our 2018 Spring Styled Shoot Series … the grand finalé!
“A rising tide lifts all boats.”
The idea promotes community over competition in business and in life. We embraced this idea from the first time we heard of it and fully believe in running our business with it in mind.
Starting a business from nothing with big dreams of success means pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. We knew we would have to figure out a way to build our wedding portfolio without any weddings. Enter the idea of a styled shoot. With no previous experience attending or planning a styled shoot, we jumped right in.
Right away we knew we wanted this to be an event open to other photographers. A concept, we discovered, that is relatively unheard of! We know we are not the only ones trying to grow our business and knew the more we would be able help others to grow their businesses too, the better! So, we extended the invitation to our photographer networks on social media and began our search for vendors. The response was incredible! Everyone loved the idea and, before we knew it, 12 photographers were signed up for the event!
Our beautiful bride and groom, Haley and Luke, not only put up with 12 photographers posing them all day … they also put up with the cold Colorado spring weather.
Events like these are what Rising Tide Society and community over competition is all about! We are so glad we had the opportunity to collaborate with other creatives and look forward to future events like this.
