When Janelle and Brittany asked us for a graduation session at CSU we jumped at the chance. It’s Colin’s alma matter! And what better way to celebrate graduation than with a friend who has been through college life’s ups and downs with you.
These are the kind of friends that support each other through thick and thin. Janelle and Brittany met in one of their first classes in the Animal Sciences program at Colorado State University, and quickly became friends. At one point, Brittany looked at us said, “I am so thankful for Janelle. She has been such a blessing.” Friendships like this are few and far between. It was a real treat to have the opportunity to photograph one of those rare friendships that lasts long after college is completed.
Janelle and Brittany’s stories are quite similar. They are both originally from California (Janelle from the south; Brittany from the north). They have always loved animals. Both knew they wanted to become vets. And both chose CSU specifically for the Animal Sciences program. Upon graduation, Janelle plans to intern at a clinic back home in California and then carry on in her education to become a veterinarian. Brittany has developed a new passion and plans to continue her education pursuing a career as a dental hygienist, hopefully here in Fort Collins.
Let’s not overlook Jada, Janelle’s VERY energetic 3-year-old black lab! Jada came along for our shoot and faithfully waited for her friends as we captured them in a variety outfits and places around campus. In between shots, Jada got the opportunity to fetch her ball, and maybe chase a squirrel or two. Finally, it was her turn to join in the fun!
These two were seriously so much fun to work with! Their bright smiles, and fun-loving natures made them a pleasure to be around. And our cameras loved them too! Graduation is definitely something to celebrate so when they told us about their idea of a champagne toast, we were all in!
