As in our first year of marriage, in our first year of business we have learned A LOT! Not only have we learned about the exciting stuff like small business law, tax submission requirements and website design; we have learned about how we work together. We have learned how to define our own version of success. And, of course, we have learned just how much we love working with our clients!
“For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 2:10
Lets be honest, nobody particularly enjoys talking about their weakness! Talk about vulnerability! It is a very humbling experience. But in order to grow both in business and in life, we need to talk about the hard stuff and identify and discuss our weaknesses.
As individuals, we excel in different areas. Colin is a rockstar with breaking down large sums of complex information into logical manageable pieces. And Wendy has a sharp eye for the details, making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one because they have a good return on their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” Identifying our strengths and weaknesses has not only given us the opportunity to utilize our strengths but also to support one another in less proficient areas.
“Let love be genuine” – Romans 12:9
The more we learn the more we realize how little we actually know! Everyone’s story is unique and we love to hear them all. Working with clients from so many backgrounds and areas of expertise is truly an honor! From geologists to lifeguards and party planners to professors, God designed us to live out our own special purpose.
While we love capturing special moments and seasons in our Six Arrow Family’s lives, we love hearing their stories even more. Sharing stories while capturing moments is something that we cherish! By the end of a photo shoot, we often feel that we have become friends with our clients. We absolutely love those sessions, and the relationships that develop from them! This has to be one of our favorite things about what we do!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” – Proverbs 3:5
So, while we have learned a lot, and accomplished a lot in our first year of business, we have a lot more ahead of us to learn and accomplish. Side-by-side, hand-in-hand, we look forward to what the Lord has for us in year two!
Cheers to ONE YEAR!
